Rovi Corporation and its subsidiaries, affiliates and/or related entities (“We” or "Rovi") recognize the importance of protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information collected online about visitors to this web site (the “Site”). Please read the following policy to understand how we will treat your personal information that is submitted to or collected by this Site. This policy may change from time to time so please check back periodically. This Site does not publish content that is targeted to children. If you are under 13, please do not submit any personally identifiable information to us.

What personally identifiable information is collected from me?

We collect personally identifiable information about you (such as your e-mail and zip code).  We also collect information about the publication(s) you use as the source for your VCR Plus+ PlusCode numbers) when you submit such information as part of the registration process.  When you complete voluntary surveys on this Site and at other times we will collect information about your VCR Plus+ usage habits.  When you request products or services from us, we will collect your name and mailing address.  We may also collect information about your visit to this Site (such as the identity of your Internet browser, the type of operating system you use, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar non-identifiable information).

How is my information used and what are my options regarding such use?

Personally identifiable information that visitors submit to the Site is used only for the purpose for which it is submitted unless we disclose other uses in this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, or at the time of collection.

Such other uses may include sending you information or materials we think you will find interesting, or sharing the information with Rovi's advertisers and business partners, who use the information for marketing and promotional purposes. However, you will have the option of instructing us not to send you additional information or share your personal information with third parties for such other uses by e-mailing us at informationoptout@vcrplus.com or following the instructions to unsubscribe from such further e-mails as noted on such e-mails.

In addition, we may contact you regarding events that may impact your use of the VCR Plus+ system and the publication(s) you use as the source of PlusCode numbers for easy recording.  If you do not want to receive such notification, send an e-mail to optoutnotification@vcrplus.com.

We may also use third parties to provide the services you have requested, or to manage sweepstakes, contests or chats, and these parties may have access to personally identifiable information submitted by you. We instruct these third parties to use personally identifiable information only for the specific purpose for which it is collected, and not to sell, market or transfer such information to other entities.

Rovi may use personally identifiable information in aggregate form and other non-identifiable usage data to make this Site better and more responsive to the needs of our visitors, and for other business purposes. This statistical compilation of non-identifiable information may also be used by Rovi or provided to others for marketing, advertising, research or other business purposes.

What security measures does Rovi use?

Rovi uses commercially reasonable efforts to maintain appropriate safeguards to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personally identifiable information submitted to this Site. Rovi periodically reviews and updates its security measures in light of current technologies.

What are cookies and web beacons, and how are they used by this Site?

Rovi has established relationships that allow visitors to the Site to link directly to sites operated by third parties. Rovi is not responsible for the content or practices of web sites operated by third parties that are linked to our site. These links are meant for the user's convenience only. Links to third party sites do not constitute sponsorship, endorsement or approval by Rov iof the content, policies or practices of such third party sites. Once you have left the Rovi site via such a link, you should check the applicable privacy policy of the third party site.

We also provide links from this Site to some or our affiliate’s web sites.  This privacy policy does not apply to those web sites.  Please check the privacy policy on our affiliate’s web sites to determine the privacy policy that applies to those web sites.

Companies who advertise on the Site may also use cookies or web beacons.  We  have no access to, control over, or responsibility for, these cookies or web beacons.

Can I review and access my personally identifiable information?

If you would like to review or correct the personally identifiable information submitted by you during the registration process, please log in and click on MY PROFILE on the top menu bar.  You may update your password or ZIP/postal code.   

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Rovi will occasionally update this privacy policy. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy policy.  For material changes to this privacy policy, Rovi will notify you by placing prominent notice on this Site.
